The collection covers from 1964, with
Niño Ricardo, Ricardo
Modrego and a 16-year old Paco de Lucía
to the profound gitano essence of Tomatito,
displayed in 1979, just after the release of La
leyenda del tiempo. Further we can see Serranito,
Manolo Sanlúcar, Enrique
de Melchor, Pepe Habichuela, Diego
Carrasco, Paco Cepero, Andrés
Batista, Pedro Bacán, Paco
de Lucía and Camarón in
1972; the classics Melchor de Marchena,
Diego del Gastor, Manuel
Morao, Pedro Peña, Félix
de Utrera, Manolo el Sevillano
... and Sabicas in one of his last live
appearances (this one is the only one from the 90s, precisely from
1990).
Sixteen years (1964-1979) of Flamenco guitar playing in sound and
images, an extraordinary period, in which tradition coexisted with
a new generation of innovators that have set todays playing
standards.

The interviews and commentaries by José
María Velázquez and Fernando
Quiñones, two highly respected Flamencologists, just
add to the uniqueness of this monumental work.
Although most of the images are in black and white,
and the sound quality was not up to today's standards, this actually
adds a quality of its own, demonstrating the authenticity of a time
when "playback" was out of the question for Flamenco artists.
This collection comprises 4 DVDs and
a book with a transcription of the commentaries and interviews by
José María Velázquez
and Fernando Quiñones translated
both into English and French. The original Spanish soundtrack
of the footage has been kept. No dubbing into English nor French.
